exceptional circumstances was created by jpbraniff1
hello all,
i found that i have a genetic disorder whichs makes me 80% likely to get cancer in 1997, within 3 months i had a mental breakdown. and have suffered acute anxiety since. In 1998 I had a severe accident at work, which left me 40% disabled (industrial injuries)2 new knees needed but 4 surgens have reccomended waiting until i am 60, currently 56, and one said i was not emotionally strong enough for surgery. i had a malignant tumer removed 18 months ago from my leg. stress increases my vunerability to cacer.as you can imagine i am very stressed about the whole process and possible outcome. would i qualify for exceptional circumstances?

We cannot offer advice to individuals about a specific benefits problem under any circumstances. All we can offer is general information about how the system works. To give advice without knowing all the facts would seriously risk misinforming you.

If you need specific benefits advice, you can download our FREE, 12 page guide to getting help with your benefits

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

might be impossible for the forum to give advise on cases without all the facts but what do you think ? giving how others have been treated

also playing devils advocate

80% chance of cancer might not carry the weight you would wish as even people with cancer have trouble getting ESA

and as for stress they would say work might help you keep your mind off your worries

the bad news is till you do the paperwork and the DM sees it no one knows
