Wife called to WFI

Wife called to WFI was created by Gordon
I have a joint claim (with my wife) for ESA, however, I scored 0 points at my WCA and have appealed with a likely tribunal date of 02/11.

My wife has just received an invitation to attend a Work Focused Interview! I know others have had this happen, but I am surprised we have received one given that the benefit is in dispute.

She suffers from Rheumatoid Arhtritis and severe Fibromyalia, is there anything we can do to prevent this requirement until at least the tribunal has occurred?

Thanks

Stephen

Could you wife not get a sick/fit note ?

If not she could go along and explain she is sick

Unfortunately no sick note can exempt you from a WFI, as these interviews are for sick people.

You could try phoning JCP and ask for the interview to be deferred until after the appeal.

Hi Stephen,
I have been placed in the ESA WRAG(once more)and am awaiting a WFI, I have been advised to attend the first if possible and take all medical evidence with Me and let them decide upon the futility of the whole exercise.
If ones health is so bad it should not be difficult to explain any further WFI attendance would be a waste of Your time (not to mention the pain and discomfort Your wife will have to go through to attend) and a waste of their time.

I was required to attend my first WFI before I had even had my medical, I ended up in hospital the following day with emergence heart problems. This unfortunately did not prevent ATOS healthcare giving me 0 score even though I took all the records with me. I ended up having all five WFI's on the basis that I was fit for work but luckily the staff at the WFI were actually quite sensibly and judged for themselves the effect it had on my health. I then won my tribunal and DWP started the cycle again with a second medical....
