MU47 Looking at your claim again was created by College12
I have received an 'MU47 looking at your claim again' Dla application form that is different from the standard one, does anyone know about this and whether the procedure for filling it are similar to of standard claim form e.g. can a Ds1500 be used with this MU47 form. PS there's hardly any info on MU47 on-line  , has anyone found links with further information.

This taken from BBC ouch forum

The DS1500 and DBD551 forms are both directly linked to this special DLA fast-track scheme for those expected to die within 6 months of the claim.

As I understand it the "normal" procedure in such claims is that the award of High Rate Mobility and High Rate care is automatic. The Awards are usually made for a period of three years now, but it could be that earlier claims would have been effectively listed as "For Life" hence the need to now check those claims where the claimant clearly has not in fact died as predicted.

It is just possible the case of the woman who had terminal cancer but survived many years even completeing several marathons etc might have been part of what prompted this review.

Seek advise from your Wefare Rights or Cab if you need help filling the form in.

I'm adding this note for the benefit of anyone finding this post on the "Search" facility, as I did.

I believe that DS1500, if accepted by the DWP, entitles you to automatic Higher Rate care. You can also use the same form to get automatic entry into the Support Group for ESA.

It does NOT - as I understand it - give you automatic entitlement to HR Mobility. You still have to qualify for that, which presumably means filling in the full DLA forms. That might still be worth it, however, as HR of the MC entitles you to a blue badge, which can be very useful when you exhausted by illness or treatment.
