I am afraid that my understanding is that all DLA claimansts will be re-assessed during 2013-2014.

Unlike benefits such as Incapacity Benefit and Employment Support Allowance, where your entitlement ends with retirement, DLA can continue to be claimed after retirement.

Sorry

Hi Gordon,

Currently, what you describe only applies to those aged 18-65 years of age and working according to the information released by the DWP.

As you're aware someone awarded DLA before they reach 65 years of age remain on DLA and don't have to apply for AA.

The Government currently hasn't yet announced if those not working and over 65 years of age will be reassessed, or if so, when that process will begin.

Kind regards.

Pat.

hi pat
from what you said i take it that the dwp see the retirment age as 65 for everyone regardless of there offical rettirment age. is that correct.
