appeal hearing was created by ALFIE
Have waited over 6 months for my wife to have her appeal for IB.Which was stopped in June 2010.Have been today and was in the appeal 1hr 15mins .Then was told due to them now running late we would not be able to give a decison today it would be posted out.Very upsetting as we were there 15mins before the time and they were 10mins late starting. They also asked what I was claiming and illnesses which I thought was out of order.
Just wondered has any one had this happen to them and is them saying they will post letter of out come bad news. The doctor was very good and went through every part of phy/mental health of my wifes medical from June. where she only got 2 points. yet in March 2009 got 18pts.

Hi James,

This is happening increasingly often and no, it definitely doesn't mean it's bad news. Tribunals tell claimants every day that their appeal has failed - it's not something they would trouble to avoid by sending out a letter instead.

It really does just mean they were running very late.

Good luck,

Steve

Hi James

It is quite common for tribunals to put their decision in the post, especially when they are running late, as it takes time to review the evidence and this can be done at the end of the day. It should not make any difference or give any indication to the outcome.

I'm pleased to hear that the doctor thoroughly examined every aspect of your wife's health problems. This is something that they should do but often fail to do.

I must admit, I am a little baffled why the tribunal questioned you about any illness that you have. It may possibly have been relevant as you are living with your wife, but as you were there as a witness to your wife's case, I think it would have been polite for the judge to explain why he or she is asking those questions.

Best of luck with the decision.

Derek
