Hi there please can you help a dear friend has helpped me to do this letter and we were wondering if you think its ok for the DWP to look at my reneal again is it to blunt do you think thank you

The doctor who came to see me to assess me could not even spell some of the medical terms. He also constantly contradicted himself in his report. my friends and I deciphered the report as the doctors handwriting was so bad I could not read it.

I am in chronic/severe pain 24 hours a day 7 days a week. No matter whether I am trying to do something in the home or outside there is never any change.

Fibromyalgia affects the muscles and they are in permanent cramps all the time. This also affects the muscles inside my body and causes IBS attacks. I also get depression because of the constant pain.

I have been given a bus pass and a Blue Badge so I don't have to walk any distance. I cant walk anyway some days as it is so painful.

I am still waiting for the Thanet risk assessment team to come in an provide me with more help in my home so that my quality of life is improved. I have Dermatitis on my hands and find it impossible to chop vegetables. I have to order in ready prepared ones. If I try and prepare food my hands become cracked and bleed and are very painful.

I have aids in my home to make life easier for me to cope. Social Services have visited me in the last week and they are going to provide more equipment to help me around the home.

When I wake in the night to go to the toilet I have to have help as I am in so much pain and have got stiff lying in bed. If I cant sleep from pain I cant go downstairs in case I fall when I am down there. I just lay awake in bed until the morning.I get very tired all the time having to cope with the pain and trying to live as normal a life as possible.

I enclose letters from two friends who I have known for ten years and who are Fibromyalgia sufferers themselves and also a letter from my GP.

Thank you for your time and help

I will play devils advocate

having a go at the drs spelling and hand writing wont get you anywhere its off topic.... all drs write rough

all your muscles are inside your body

bus pass and blue badge are not given to the same rules for dla esa or ib

get a report from social services that might help

changes to dla that will happen when pip comes in might mean if you get help lower care at present ... then saying you manage with pre heated meals ....that might not be good info to give them :) all IMO of course

Which benefit is this for? I'm guessing it's for DLA.

We do not give specific individual advice, but I'm happy to make some general comments.

I think that you need to address the specific care/mobility needs you have, other than preparing food. Your letter implies that you have other daytime care needs, but if so, you haven't said what they are. You say that you have a bus pass so that you don't have to walk far, but you don't say how far you can walk. You refer to having problems in the night. What difference would help from a carer make? How much help would you need?

I can't tell you what answers you should give, but I would suggest that you should be specific.

Also, if this is an application for a reconsideration, don't forget that there is a time limit for appealing and that if you appeal, you will get a reconsideration anyway.

Please do take another look at our guides in the Help for claimants section.

Length of letter is easy if they have to turn the page they might miss it keep to one side see the letter as like a health CV
