Have just been reading the forum, can we take it that ESA and DLA are to be abolished before the year of ESA(cb) is up or will this take years?

No the implementation of the Universal credit is at least 3 years away, and there will have to a migration of exiting benefit claimants, which I expect would take at least a further four years.

That of course assumes that the thing is passed and runs to schedule :)

So does this mean that the 'conditions' attached to your IB - e.g if you received it before occupational pensions were taken into account(mine isn't at the moment) will remain for a year assuming you are transferred into ESA CB WRAG group? I know that after a year under ESA IR they will be.

As far as I am aware, there is no transfer of any "IB conditions", you will be subject to the ESA conditions in the same way as someone who has only made an ESA claim is.

If you are transferred to ESA(CB) then there is an £85 pension disregard and then a deduction of £1 for every £2 above £85.
