I don't think you have to, but it would be a very effecctive way of getting your message across. I must admit, I'd never thought of sending a photo in.

I do think, however, that whenever you send extra evidence, you should always refer to it on your form and explain what you are sending it as evidence of.

After all, anyone can burn themselves. The question is why? Did you burn yourself because you lost concentration? Because your balance is poor? Is this typical or rare for you? A bit of explanation would help the decision maker.

And don't forget to keep that burn clean and dry. (Yes, I, too burnt myself on the oven not long ago. It's why I very rarely use it.)

Am assuming you're completing DLA form?

Personally I wouldn't make a point of this or send a pic as that would prove that you do make a meal for yourself!

When I used to cook, I was often burning myself on the oven, or on the steam from saucepans (which is much more painful!)

With me it's a concentration problem. I'm taking something out of the oven and my mind wanders off and the next thing you know, I've got a burn. Fortunately for me, it's more often silly things like emptying the water from a saucepan into my kitchen bin instead of the sink. :D

Leave it dressed and forget about the picture idea. It was original, but not necessary.
