SDA transfer was created by Jude
Hi, Regarding the transfer from SDA benefit. I understand that It may be means tested. My Daughter is now back living at home and works full time and my husbands two children from his previous marriage are coming to live with us from June of this year works. They are both graduates but can only find part time work at present. My son also a graduate is out of work. My husband works full time. Do they calculate the whole income of the family or just my husbands income? My Daughter gives me a small amount of money each week towards her food ect but of course not my son or step sons.

If you are put in the WRAG, your benefits would become income-based after a year, and your husband's income would be taken into account. The income of others in the family would not. In theory, your daughter's payments to you could be taken into account as income, but as I've not heard of this happening, I'd suggest that you get face-to-face advice on this.

I receive Contributory Based ESA & am in the WRAG. When I first applied for ESA I had to give details of who was living in the house & all sources of income. My husband's income from his occupational pension was taken into account & also my daughter's 'board & lodging' contribution. DWP calculated that these two sources of income meant that I was not entitled to Income Related ESA as well as Contributory Based ESA as they took our income just over the threshold for (IR) ESA.
