I think IMO :) that the reason they have not put you in the support group is because the letter from the dr lacks detail

it says "lost full control of her bowels"

thas not the same as

"Has no voluntary control "

this of course IMO and I am no expert .. but with my devils advocate hat on :silly: if I saw the way your dr had wrote it I would not have put you in the support group... might have been worth asking for more information to see how bad there are ... but thats never going to happen with the DWP :)

Hi again

I think I've probably done the best thing by contacting my local DIAL. Left them a message, just have to wait for them to get in-touch with me to have an appointment with them.

We'll see how it goes, I am sure my doc would be more than willing to write a more in-depth letter if it was required.

I agree we can talk till the cows some home but you need expert advise .. pity one of the mods have not been along to give there point of view .. on the wording

I would get your dr (if he will) to write the letter as per the way the DWP seem to like it keep them happy :)

fingers crossed for you :)

Hi

I have a very good GP who is always willing to help me re: my health problems in whatever way he can. It's a shame they don't pay any attention to what they say now, after all they know you and your health problems best, but any way to stop people getting what they're entitled to seems to be the way now.

I think I'll have the appointment with DIAL first and mention what you've said to me. That way I have some grounding to go on asking my doc for another letter, if needed.

DIAL are usually pretty good at getting back and making appointments as I have had to see them before for other health related matters, that way I can time my doc app. to come after my app with the people at DIAL.

Hi Pusscat. The use of pads would not stop the loss of control, I would argue along those lines. Best Wishes

Yes I've heard something similar that just because pads are used it does not solve the problem of the incontinence as it is not a cure for it. I know this is a very important factor to use in any argument.

Thanks for that.
