DLA APPEAL.

Hi have just been awarded High Rate Mobility at my appeal but did not get any care allowance. Back dated to March 2010 and for 2 years. Absolutely delighted. Found the questioning tough but I answered them honestly stressing how walking caused me so much pain. Your information guides were invaluable. Thank you. I wanted to give up and withdraw my appeal but I just put aside my coping stratagies and told the panel everything, even how embarrashed I felt. Don't give up and keep trying. Thank you again.

just glad to get mobility at long last, they felt I could cook a meal ok. glad now i did'nt give up. which is what they want.

Well done poppydog I just got my DLA mobility awarded on second attempt no care allowance either because I too can cook a meal apparently!!!! the microwave is my best friend, good news on the 2 years as well, my award is 12 months then it starts all over again so at least you don't have to worry about it for a while

Hi had to appeal in 2012, after being turned down again this year. Had a visit from a doctor to my home. Lasted about an hour with questions and an examination. Just had notification of high rate mobility awarded for two years. Delighted that I persisted one more time. Your guides are invaluable and I got asked almost everything indicated. I also was very aware of being observed the instant the doctor arrived and the throw away comments like "you can cook for yourself". I was able to answer yes but it causes me a great pain and discomfort. Thank you again and never give up.
