'save those soon to die'

Nope, lost track of the times I've been told that terminally ill clients were denied benefits because no notes were entered on the system etc.

And of course the case of the emphysema patient on oxygen being taken to the Job Centre in an ambulance at the demand of the DWP.

One call back was greeted with news of the 'client's' death, to which my source offered them funeral benefits, provided they complete another form...

I lose it with health professionals - as soon as they start patronising me, spouting garbage, making light of conditions which they know are serious and complex, assume my brain doesn't work or I don't have one - absolutely lose it. I'm not physically violent (insufficient strength, movement) but I hear myself getting increasingly sarcastic to the point of hissing rage! I think we should be allowed to see what they've said about us at the medical so they can explain to our faces how we've managed to score nil points!

If we don't fight for ourselves there are very few who'll fight on our behalf.

My girlfriend of 43 years died of a blood cancer (like leukemia sp?) just 3 weeks ago.

THE LAST TIME I SPOKE TO HER (ONE WEEK BEFORE HER DEATH) SHE HAD NOT RECEIVED AWARD. I do think she had DLA.

So, I shouldn't have included that, your right.

you are absolutely right, even with good friends, the battle is fought by you/me alone. It sure helps to have the wisdom and encouragement provided by this site though. cmarie510 :cheer:

I'm sorry for your loss.

If she claimed DLA and was entitled to it, it may form part of her estate, so I recommend that you let her executor or administrator know.

Right at present I claim IB (well a little bit of it) and when they move me to ESA like everyone here I think I should be in the support group and I am sure I have it stiched up, I dont have to send in IB50s or sick notes as I am exempt for a couple of reasons... so after I do ESA50 then medical then appeal ;) if they say I am fit for work :)

When I win or just get in the Support Group am I allowed to saw I think I should be put there and left there and dont want bothering ? are you allowed to put or suggest of course at anytime they can re check people .... but can you set out trying to get them to leave you alone ? has it been tried

I am sure there must be many that fall into such a group and re testing is a waste of money IMO of course

Hey Dave

Always the optomist!!!!  But i love your enthusiasm lol anything is worth a try!! Perhaps you should be the guinea pig!! On a serious note i am one of the lucky one's (if you can call it that) placed in the support group but i don't know for how long as there was no indication what date it would be renewed. I have survived for nearly 2 years in support group, but live in dread of that dreaded questionaire dropping through my letterbox!!!

Mm :) xx
