ESA work group - Postponing interviews was created by injuredcyclist
Hi,

I would be grateful for any advice on the above - I can't see anything about this on my search, yet.

What's the best way to postpone your 'Help with return to work' interview?

I suffered a very serious accident last year and am recovering from a head injury. I am very distressed that I have been placed in to this group as even day to day activities are v hard for me right now and I cannot leave the house on my own.
Its crazy.
I also have a job to return to and will be able to,in time.
What I need is time to heal!

I attended my medical recently and this was beyond my limits - so attending another one so soon is unattainable and is really detrimental to my progress.
My GP and consultants will back me up - should I ask for a letter from him?

Its so ridiculous - I WANT to be healed more than anything , I love my job and want to get back to it asap.
I have been through the hardest year of my life and I just need time to recover.I'm still rebuilding my life and it;s very upsetting to be treated like this.

I can't beleive the DWP have got so far out of touch with their own humanity.

I will be appealing against my group placement but any advice on dealing with the Personal Advisor is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It is possible to have WFIs deferred, but the deferral is discretionary. If it were me, I'd phone and ask for it to be deferred and if turned down send in a doctor's letter and repeat the request.
