ESA50 03/11 and Carers was created by Christine
Hi All, I hope that you'll be able to advise me.
I am disabled and I need to have constant help. I live with my ex partner who provides care 24/7. When I became ill he had no hesitation to become my carer. When I moved to a bungalow he gave up the tenancy on his flat and moved in with me. The local council gave me a two bedroom home to enable him to move in (with a joint tenency) and the DSS fraud squad came and were happy with the arrangement. My carer has health problems of his own so claims incapacity benefit. He also claims
carers allowance. He has now recieved one of the ESA claim forms, and we need to know how to proceed from here.
I claim income support plus a disability premium. Also DLA ,highest mobility and middle care allowances for an indefinite time.
Many Thanks, Chrissie.

Hi Christine

It sounds like you need face-to-face advice with this due to the multi-benefit complexity and the amount of information that needs to be considered.

I just thought I would advise you that it is not a good idea to use your full name as your forum name on a public forum.

You can easily change it if you wish by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Good luck

Derek

Hi Dave,

Following your 'Report to Moderator' the posters full name has been amended. So the original post remains with their chosen screen name.

Kind regards.

Pat

cool some idiots in the world all you need is a name and 192 :) is there no way the software can have a warning page when people sign up to warn them of the dangers of real names?

also for the original poster are you sure they get both carers allowance and IB they are over lapping benefit and you cant have both ?

If my memory serves me correctly, and I stand to be otherwise informed, there is a message that informs members not use their real name in the B & W forums when they sign up for membership.

Insofar as your query about the OP arises in relation to their claim for CA/IB, we are not in possession of the full facts, which is why we constantly inform members not to post individual enquiries about their own benefit entitlement in the forum, and to seek face-to-face advice elsewhere.

This thread is clearly going off-topic, so it is now locked.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
