Hi, I'm 62 on 2 Pensions, State and Pension Credit and receive DLA which I've been getting for quite a few years. I get both high components. I'm classed as severely disabled with severe chronic bronchial asthma and COPD and severe arthritis. I'm a tad confused about what is going to happen to DLA and am very worried that I'll lose it. The amount of pain I'm in increases if I get upset and I'm upset. Can someone please tell me if I will lose my DLA? I know it changes to something else when I turn 65 which is basically the same as DLA but what with all these horrid changes I can't afford to lose anything. Please help!! Thanks, Tigrine :(

There is nothing for you to worry about at the moment, PIP the proposed replacement for DLA is not law yet and even if passed, will not come into affect for several years.

You say you are currently 62, and our information is that that the changes will probably not apply to the over 65s, which you may well be by the time implementation begins.

Even if they do apply, there really is no reason to assume you would not qualify.
