I have been on IB now for 4 and half years and todate I have never been asked any financial questions. All I have noticed was this year when I was given details about the cost of living rise it mentioned declaring any company sponsored PHI receipts and Occupational Pensions over £85 a week. No mention of monies in the bank as my IB is contribution based.

I didn't know a final decision re: occupational pensions before 2001 would no longer be disregarded but having read this I'm assuming it has now been clarified. I've not been keeping up with the pace of things - there seems to be a daily barrage.

Thanks.

My understanding is that pre 2001 occupational pensions WILL continue to be disregarded :)

Our understanding is that if they are disregarded under IB then they will continue to be under ESA, providing you remain eligible for ESA on the intial claim.

Thanks to everyone for replies have started to fill in the form and am expecting to be placed in the WRAG.
I'll let you know how I get on. The guides have really helped with the form filling.

The process as far as I can remember is that on new claims they fill in a form over the phone and then send you a copy to ensure it is correct at that point they will ask for any additional papers, which would include financial papers if you were claiming IR ESA. Then they send out the ESA50.

So I would assume in the transfer the regulations in respect of income will be the same and if you had declerable income over £6000 you would have declared it, as you already have a duty to.

In respect of the income that is not counted unless they tell you otherwise I would assume it still was

Hope that all makes sense
