DLA Tribunal was created by Paul Clay
I yesterday attended my Tribunal concerning DLA.
I have been waiting since January 2010 to be heard!
The Tribunal ruled in my favour and for Two years, I was awarded high rate of mobility and low rate of care.
I would like to thank the forum members and this Site for all the information I gathered during this time.
Whilst I am on, as this award finishes in January 2012, does anyone know what happens then?
Do I have to re-apply and go through the whole system again?
Cheers - Paul

Hi Paul,

Firstly congratulations on your award.

Somewhere between three and five months before your award runs out you will be sent another set of forms to complete if you still wish to claim.

In effect it will be treated as a new application so you will need to complete the form and supply any evidence you can.

If you didn't make as copy of your original claim and any further evidence you sent for the tribunal you can apply for copies which may help avoid some of the pitfalls which caused your iniitial non award and help with your new claim. It is also a useful 'aide memoir' as to haw your needs were and how your needs are at renewal time.

Pete

Hi Paul

Congratulations on your success!!! Sadly as happened in my case a few years ago you will have been paid backdated to Jan 2010, but in the next few months you will have another battle on your hands as your renewal thuds through your letterbox!!!! It is so wrong, if your circumstances remain the same at your tribunal surely they could give you the award for a longer period!!! Mind you i would class this as common sense which there doesn't seem to be a lot of with DWP at times!!!!

Well done
Mm :) xx
