We can only offer general information about how the system works.

However, we cannot offer advice to individuals about a specific benefits problem under any circumstances. To give accurate and reliable advice about a specific benefits problem, we'd need to know a great deal about your income, savings, health, household arrangements and more. To give advice without all this information would seriously risk misinforming you.

If you need specific benefits advice, you can download our FREE, 12 page guide to getting help with your benefits.

Hi All,

Just a quick note to amplify what Crazydiamond has posted.

Despite numerous requests not to ask for advice on individual claims, some members are continuing to do so.

Some are writing really long posts giving lots of personal information about the conditions they suffer from etc. etc. We really cannot answer these kind of posts.

Others will ask a question, receive a reply from a moderator, then submit further supplementary questions, which is much the same as asking for individual advice.

We are not and never can be a 24/7 on demand welfare rights service, as CD has explained, we can only offer general information on how the system works.

A brief reminder that all moderators have chronic ill-health and/or severe disability themselves, and all give their time freely as volunteers.

Also, we are down on moderators at present, with two moderators off sick, and another just recovering from heart surgery, so there are only a few of us online at present to pre-moderate, and reply to queries.

Finally, Pat and I are moving next Thursday into larger accommodation so I can use my wheelchair indoors, so after tomorrow both of us will have little time to moderate.

Please bear with us at this busy time, and ask is my question really necessary. Please use the 'Search Forum' facility, as many questions posted have been answered before.

Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

Best wishes.

Jim
