DLA was created by jacksmum1
Applied for DLA back in March due to fibromyalgia, CFS,asthma, wear and tear of spine, colitis and now breast cancer. Have had numerous letters stating they contacting my consultant etc. When I phoned consultant none had been contacted??? Letter 3 weeks ago stating they will now contact my GP (he is aware of my current mobility and other problems) yet am still waiting for a decision.....How much longer does it take and is this a good or bad sign??

Hi there Jacksmum
DLA can take up to 11 weeks to make a decision so, if I was you, I'd hold tight and wait and see. I can understand how anxious you must be but sure things will be dealt with correctly and, if not, you can ask to see the evidence used in making decision. Good luck.

Yes I realise it can take weeks but this is now longer than 11 weeks, I am worrying because now I am off work and on half pay due to the double mastectomy and restructuring treatment and still dont know if I shall be able to work my 16 hours ever again....all this stress and extra disabilities are draining me both physically, mentally and financially. I am so stressed out it is unbelievable, every time the postman comes I meet him at the door longing for a brown envelope. Nightmare.
