Filling in esa form need advice was created by helchis
Hi on the esa form where it says you may need a face to face medical atos would like to contact you and it asks for a phone number,do you have to give a phone number.i dont like answering the phone.would atos send an apointment if needed by post all is it always done over the phone

No, you are not required to provide a phone number, they will simply contact you by letter with regard to what is going on.

Just don't put your number down. Even if you do and ask them not to contact you by phone they will ignore this and ring anyway. If they can't contact you by phone they will send a letter to you with an appointment. Bear in mind that if you are not able to make the appointment they give you, you will have to contact them yourself to change the appointment, because they won't speak to anyone else apart from you. That's what happened to me, so now I'm just keeping to the original appointment they sent me.

Yes I did put down my number, but asked them not to contact me by phone because I can't answer the phone to unidentified numbers or withheld. They phoned anyway( i googled number to find out it was Atos). Just don't write your number down at all, they will send you a letter with your appointment. Just try your best to attend the original date/time they give you because if you can't, you'll have problems if you find using the telephone difficult.
