ESA was created by jacksmum1
I am on HRC and HRM DLA after recently diagnosed illnesses one of which is cancer for which I am receiving treatment. I am currently on sick from a 16 hour job. I have just read on "DIAL" that I am exempt from applying for ESA because I should automatically receive it for being on HRC and HRM is this true, should I be applying or notify the Works and Pensions that I can no longer work????Any advice is appreciated..

Hi jacksmum1

I'm afraid exemption for being on HRC only applied to the PCA, and not the WCA that is used to test ESA claimants.

Do you have a link to this information from DIAL?

It's not out of date but it just applies to IB, not ESA.

Yes but I thought IB was replaced by ESA? Confused...

It is, but I'm afraid it's not just the name that's changed; ESA has completely different rules to IB.
