BDC Failed to pay Income Support & no Explanation

I recently moved to a new town and changed BDC centres as a result. I wrote to my old BDC to inform them and then subsequently called to confirm they had received the letter. They said they did, but told me that I would also need to contact the new BDC. I did that the new BDC told me that there would be no problems or delays in any future payments. 2 weeks ago I received my regular Income Support payment from my new BDC so I was under the impression that all had transferred over successfully.

However, today I discover that no payment of Income Support had been made. I tried calling the BDC, but now it is through a call centre and they say that I have to wait 3 hours for a response. They were unhelpful, unsympathetic and could offer me no explanation for the failure of payment. I'm also disabled (in receipt of DLA Higher Care & Mobility). I've sent my MP an email to try and get him to assist. Does anybody else have any other ideas/suggestions or similar experiences?

MP Just called me and asked for my details and will contact DWP directly now and try and find out what's going on, but did say this is happening more and more lately.

There do seem to have been an increasing number of "administrative errors" with the DWP payment system, so this may ne why your IS is late.

Quite how a computer system, that has been set up to make payments on a regular basis is prone "administrative errors", beggars belief, but based on recent reports in the press, computing is clearly not the governments forté.

computers dont make mistakes well some intel chips can get confused if working too very large decimal point numbers :) sandy bridge error in jan 2011

the mistake is always with the person working the computer ... its not just the dwp gas ompanies elect phone companies any company that uses computers and allows humans to input data will get mistakes

I dont think the dwp are any worse than any other company in the amount of mistakes made inputting data the 2 big problems are when the DWP staff make a mistake people starve and the other problem is due to high work loads staff cut backs mistakes are on the up and up

private compaines even where they lose customers and get bad press have not been able to cut mistakes the number of people getting a wrong utility bill is on par with the number of people not getting benefit ... get rid of the humans and it might get better

and as bleak as that reading has just been, when Universal Credit comes in and we are expected to fill in forms on lines we too will make mistakes :silly:
