:S well well afetr waiting for my appeal since late Nov last year i received a letter this week from them ! ! telling me that they will give me the low rate care rate but NOT the mobility, after i have been ill and on mobility for the last 10 years, and in all that time i have gotten worse not better and they have the audacity to try and make me feel like they are doing me a big big favor, i think not, i feel like they are trying to pacify me with this offer because it is ''for life'' so i should act like a good little boy and go away and fade into the background, well i think not, since i became ill in late 99 with angina, i have moved on to Atrial Fibrilation, Angina, COPD high blood pressure DVT, asthma, type 2 diabetes, spinal Arthritis, i now find it more and more difficult to walk any distance without severe discomfort, i have a cr only because we need it my wife looks after me and when we go shopping once a fortnight i try to get an electric trolley and if not i sit in the car and wait for her to struggle out with all the shopping, ad they DO have the cheek to tell me that i no longer warrant motobility, well all i can say is THINK AGAIN i am waiting to see my own Dr and ask him to write me a letter so we can re- appeal yet again, so watch this space, i will keep you informed on just how the DWP try to put me down, thanks for listening, only i feel i have to get it off my chest somewhere, cause i am about to explode....

Good to see you got it off your chest. Would be as annoyed as you are.
Easy to say but sit back for a day and then look at it again.Proceed with knowledge not anger.

Outrageous, My wife who was a nurse cannot believe it. Contact your MP and get him/her involved. Let them know what a complete farce the system is. Best of Luck Peter.

When you complaint to your MP, as you should, you might want to draw their attention to the fact that the figures used to justify the withdrawal of DLA and introduce PIP were in fact wrong. More here www.bhfederation.org.uk/federation-news/...se-for-dla-cuts.html

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the link. I am currently working with my MP on the transition from DLA to PIP, so have sent this report to him. I'm currently waiting to hear from him with further information from Maria Miller as to what will happen to over 65's who are currently on DLA mobility component, as the Welfare Reform Bill states they will lose their low or higher rate mobility component and need to claim AA.

However, from information from my MP, it appears that there will be transitional protection.

Will keep members informed.

hi once again, i am just here to thank you all for taking the time to read my grievance and offer advice, i am sending a letter to the DWP asking them for a typed transcript so i can at least make some sort of sense of it all, even tho i still find it hard to believe he took my answer of up to 50 mtrs walking distance but still having to stop for a breather and changed it comletely around to say i can walk 501mtrs, ??? just who would write in an official form 501 why such an odd number, anyway i am not going to give in i am now 61 and will fight till the cows come home, (in other words till i am satisfied i have gotten back what i believe i AM entitled too) again thanks to all for your replies, it's support like yours that keep me going, i have been on the brink of a nervous breakdown thinking i am fighting a losing battle, but with your support i am feeling more like a human being, and i have the will back to keep going again....
