TOPIC: ATOS Medical! How long to hear back

ATOS Medical! How long to hear back 6 years 1 month ago #65769

Hi
I had a medical on 22 June but havent heard any thing since. The medical lasted just over 2 hours which was very tiring. He arrived 20mins early and the people that where which was supporting me was 20mins late. I think the medical went well. its been 9 weeks since the medical should I be worried. The medical was to do with DLA as I was reported for fraud in January so its been going on for months now.

Hi Dee

Sorry to hear that you have had this experience.

The usual period qouted by the DWP following DLA medicals is a period of 11 weeks for a decison. You could always phone DLA unit in Blackpool 08457 123456 & ask how your claim is getting on quoting your National Insurance number, unfortunately the call centre dont usually give out too much information, but you may get reassurance that its being dealt with by a Decision Maker.

Hope all goes well.

I rang DLA to find out when I would hear back as it was 11 weeks on Wednesday and they told me that the letter that I got on 15 July was telling me that I had passed the medical. It is great to know that I am not a fraud as someone had reported me.

Congratulations, that must be a weight off your mind.
