wrag without medical and I cant walk was created by lester
I have been placed in the wrag without a medical and I know I qualify for the support group as I cannot walk 10 mtrs without extreme discomfort and pain,i am starting my appeal as of now, what forms should Icomplete and return? should I notify them of my intetion to appeal?I supplied evidence from my doctor and sent duplicate's to dwp pointing out why I should be in the support group but they have still made this decision without seeing me,after 6 weeks of sleepless nights, losing 2 stone in weight and feeling in a limbo its still not over.

Hi lester,

Have a look at the thread on the link below. :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=vie...id=10&id=66309#66309

It discusses being put straight into WRAG, which does seem to be a trend of late.

Have a look in the members only area (orange box on the left) which covers ESA appeals, then if you have any particular queries, come back to us.

cheers

You need to send a GL24 form. Please see the ESA appeal guide from the link below. This explains the full process.

In,

In order to appeal, you will need ti either download (or ring up and ask for) a form GL24.

You can download one from here

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/gl24dwp.pdf

It would be worth obtaining some face to face help with the appeal, as there is a small chance that you maybe risking your currently awarded WRAG award. Thus to at least ensure the relative safety of your current WRAG award and obtain the help to highlight your appeal points some face to face from such as a CAB/Welfare Rights/Community Legal Advice etc is really vital.

Edit - Sorry Derek and bro - your posts were not there when I started to type!!

Due to my being medically retired from the prison service when I had my stroke I receive a good pension so it is not about the money as I only get a nomminalpayment anyway, so I do not really have anything to lose in that respect but I would miss my car which could be taken away due to this decision, I do agree this appears to be a ploy to get us to be gtateful and drop any attemps to get what is really due us, well this is one disabled stroke victim that will not curl up and die.

Sorry but could you clarify why your car would be taken away by being put into the ESA WRAG as opposed to the ESA Support Group (other than perhaps on financial grounds when ones ESA Contributory WRAG payment stop)?
