Please tell me I am not the only one infuriated by them trying to arrange an appointment for an assessment?

I get call this morning from 01264325540 saying they needed to arrange an appointment for me to have an assessment.

First date they offered was 16th Sept, this being first date of 16th-23rd Sept that I had put on my ESA50 as a week I couldn't attend, reason family are away and I need someone to take me. So next date he comes out with is week beginning 19th Sept..........still within the range I put on form that was unsuitable.

I explained to the guy I had put these dates on the form but I still felt as if I was being awkward. He then went on to say he would need to get someone to call me in a few days as they can't access appointments any later than that week!!!

Maybe I am too cynical for my own good but why do I feel I won't get a call and will get a letter for an appointment for one of the unsuitable days??? :silly:

I should have said I was also asked if I could come on a Saturday, so looks like assessments are not just Monday to Friday anymore.

I can also forsee that when they do contact me again they will be asking me to come on other dates I have stated I can't do, this time it is for religious reasons.

I am so stressed, I feel as if I am being awkward but I was upfront and gave these dates. :(

Hi,

Sadly the staff who make the appointments are usually under some pressure to make sure as many 'slots' as possible are filled. That could include trying to ask if one would be available to attend on dates previously notified as unavailable on the ESA50. It is possible for example that previously unavailable dates as put on the ESA50 do sometimes become 'available' again if plans change etc.

I do know they cannot book ahead too far on their system although I am not sure on how far the bookable range extends forwards.

However you should not feel awkward if the dates you are offered are not convenient.

Pete

Thanks Pete, I just didn't expect the call to make an appointment to be so stressful! Dreading the next call already!

I think the 20th of September was the latest date the guy had on his system.
