Is it probable that the DWP would get in touch with your previous GP if your present GP doesn't know you well enough to fill in a GPFR.

A previous post has suggested that this can happen, but the ex-GP would obviously no longer have access to your medical records.

What are they likely to do in these circumstances?

HI P,

I feel that the DWP would contact your current G.P., with any requests for information on your medical conditions.

Any previous G.P.'s would not really want to give current information on a patient who has left their practice.

I would advise anyone in the position, of having a new G.P. to make an appointment, and discuss this issue with them.

Don't forget that you can gain copy of all your G.P. records from your practice, going back to when you were a child.

There may be a fee for this, which seems to vary from practice to practice, we've seen variances between £20 and £50 charge for this.

cheers
