Contribution ESA to Income base ESA

HI, can anybody help?

I am on contribution based ESA and would like to know if there is anyway I could go onto Income related ESA, as this would work out better for me regarding cold weather payments and Dentist fees etc.

You can't choose to go onto ESA(IR) if you are entitled to ESA(CB).

It's one of the odder aspects of ESA that someone who hasn't paid NI contributions is in some ways better off than someone who has, but that just goes to show how badly drafted some of this legislation is.
