Why is a decision from the DM at Blackpool posted in an envelope which has a Belfast PO Box number?

Hi,

It probably has P.O Box 585, Belfast BT1 1DW as the 'return address'?

This is the DWP's central 'dead letter' box for letters that cannot be delivered to the recipient to be returned to. Some other government agencies such as The Child Support Agency use the same address as well for their undelivered letters.

It does not have any function relating to ones ongoing claim. Such enquiries should be addressed to the relevant office that is actually dealing with your claim.

Its a throw back to Giros and DWP not trusting staff.Off site printing came in first to stop staff nicking giros then all they had to do was put a stupid address on false claim and it came back to office for them to "deal with" as the Royal Mail has had a dead letter box very big in Belfast they had theres sent there too.
