Hi,

Going from your previous post 3 months ago, here:

can I take it the benefit you are referring to with this question is Disability Living Allowance(DLA)?.

Although we cannot answer questions relating to specific individual queries, DLA is paid based on your needs, mobility and/or care. A diagnosis is really only of secondary importance. This can be explained simpler by taking two people with the same condition, one may have more care/mobility needs than another.

Hence having a diagnosis of a condition is not as important as the care/mobility needs the condition causes.

Hence having the diagnosis may make no difference to your claim. However as having the diagnosis is really a change of circumstance, you should inform the DWP (preferably in writing and keep a copy).

I am not sure at what stage you are currently at in the claim/appeal process since you last posted, but if a tribunal hearing is very imminent, it maybe worth as well making copies of any correspondence you have relating to this diagnosis, in order to give to the tribunal panel.

Hi,

As having the diagnosis can be classed as a change of circumstances, if you did not mention this on your ESA claim you should really inform the DWP.
