If you believe you meet one or more of the criteria for the Support Group then you can appeal the Decision to place you in the WRAG.

Many other forum members have found themselves in a similar position, appealed, and been placed in the SG, so it is possible, but you do need be aware that an appeal will cause a full review of your existing award, and whilst it is unlikely that you could lose your WRAG status, it is still a possibility.

If this is something you want to pursue, then you should request your medical report (ESA85A) and the Decision Makers Statement of Reasons (ESA65) from your local DWP office to understand what criteria you met for the WRAG.

You need to complete and send in a GL24 Appeal form which can be downloaded from here , within one month of the date on the Decision letter you received.

Our ESA Appeal guide will explain the process and what you need to do, and you should have a look at the Understanding ESA guide which will explain ESA in more detail and has a list of the Support Group criteria.

If possible try and get help from your local CAB or Welfare Rights office.

PS. Please try not to post in upper case as it causes problems for some members using screen reading software.
