Could somebody please tell me if one elderly parent recieves AA is the other one allowed to claim in the same household. Thanks ?

AA and DLA are benefits claimed by the individual for the their benefit, so there is no reason why both your parents should not claim AA.

Their are AA Claim guides in the Members area which hopefully will be of assistance.
