DLA access to consultants information was created by susan5050
Hi
The DLA requested a report from my GP regarding my DLA appeal.

Unfortunately the report has taken a while to be completed however,it has now been done (my GP is very supportive).

Meanwhile there has been a crossover with this report reaching the DLA, and they have written to me asking if I can hurry the GP report along as well as them now additionally asking for information on consultants I told them I was waiting to see and my permission for them to be contacted.

The problem is that these consultants have only ever seen me during the span of my illness for approx half an hour each, and were not at all communicative with no discussion at all on how my daily activities were affected by my conditions.

I consider it would not be beneficial to my appeal in any way for these consultants to be contacted as they have not had enough input with me as an individual. However, I am unsure what the outcome would be if I do not allow the DLA permission to contact them. Is it possible that once the GP report is received this will be adequate information? I am certain he will be very explicit on how my conditions affect me as he is the only medical professional who has knowledge of these facts?

Thank you for any advice you can give.
