DLA Home visit/Medical by ATOS was created by bevlos
I have received a letter from ATOS saying they are going to conduct a home visit with a possible medical.

This is due to my ongoing claim for DLA. They refused my current claim due to a report from a consultant i had never seen or spoken to and ignored my GP report.

I won my previous claim only after attending a tribunal and the claim being back dated for a year.

I have provided lot's and lot's of medical information in support of my latest claim. I don't feel up to a home interrigation.

My question is can i say no to the visit and ask for them to go on the information i have provided in great detail already or do i have to submit to the questions and having to justify everything yet again. Feel pretty low and not sure i can take a visit/medical on my own. Any help would be greatfully received.

Hi B,

I am afraid that if you refuse to have a medical your DLA claim may be turned down.

The medical has been arranged because the person dealing with your claim feels that they need further evidence before making a decision on an award of DLA.

See more information here. :

Have you looked at our DLA guides in the MEMBERS ONLY area, they include, what to expect at a home medical assessment.

cheers
