DLA decision/delayed notice

DLA decision/delayed notice was created by TRuss
DLA was not paid on 6 September. I repeatedly tried to phone but lines were busy so eventually sent an email on 15 Sept, asking why no payment. Because of no reply I sent a letter on 13 Oct. asking the same. On 17 Oct. I received a disallowance notice dated 6 Sept. and therefore any appeal was automatically out of time. I have written a letter of appeal dated 17 Oct. anyway, pointing out the delay in notifying me of the decision, and will send it in tomorrow (hoping for your advice/comments in the meantime). Should I expect a battle over the timing? And what can I do about it? TR.

Hi TR

A late appeal can be accepted if, as you have done, you have given reasons for the delay.

I'd love to know why it took them over a month to put a letter in an envelope!

Good luck with the appeal

Derek
