GP Support with Assessment Process was created by Augustus
I don't see my GP very often with my conditions because I just endure with my medication.
I went to update him recently becasue I have the ESA50 form to fill in. He did not seem much interested; he said they would not phone but just write to him to confirm my medication. They would not ask for his views apparently.
Is this true could any one say, or am i at a disadvantage with the facts I have given?

Oh, and with help of an advice centre I have given what seems to be excessive details about everything on this form. Is this a good strategy? I am being migrated from Incapacity Benefit.

Thanks for any feedback.

Whether your doctor is contacted will depend on the level of detail in your ESA50, any evidence attached, and as you are being transferred from IB, your previous medical reports.

If a report is requested, then it will most certainly ask your doctor to comment on details of your conditiona and not just your medication.

With regard to the level of detail on your ESA50, whilst I think claimants should be concise where possible, this in no way means that you should not document all of the details on how your condition affects you, and in particular, in the context of how you meet the ESA criteria. If that means additional sheets are required, then you should not see this as a problem.

Hope this helps
