Hi,
Apologies if this is posted twice.A message said I was logged out just as I posted.
Regarding my future Atos medical, whenever that may be!I had a Colonoscopy and bowel biopsies taken 15 years ago.The Consultant has now retired so will his report still be relevant with regards to my bowel disease?
I have asked my GP if there is anything else I can be prescribed, to prevent having daily bowel accidents and he replied no, apart from taking codeine when I have various appointments to attend. I am not to take it on a daily basis or I will become addicted and it will stop having the desired effect. Will this satisfy ATOS?
I also have severe Asthma/Angina/Osteoporosis/Arthritis/Depression/M.E/ and possible M.E. I am 8 years away from retirement. What work can I do?and more to the point who would employ me?

Hi,

Although we cannot given advice specific to your own claim, in general it may be better to have some more recent evidence than 15 years old .

Even if the newer evidence serves only to show that the 15 year old evidence is still relevant, it is probably still better.

It is possible that your GP will be written to as part of the ESA process so it is important to ensure he/she is as upto date as possible with your condition(s).

As to yourself and work and possible employers, obviously rather rhetorical questions on a forum as we are not in any possible position to answer.

Pete

Hi,I can't see the NHS paying for another colonoscopy/biopsies when I have already had a diagnosis. My GP does now how much of an impact this has on my everyday life.
Sorry,I was not asking for advice regarding a job, simply stating how ridiculous the whole scenario of sending people for medicals when there is clearly medical evidence proving they are not fit for work.

Hi Amber

B&W guides to ESA can be found in the orange Members Only section, fyi I have posted the link here -

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa

I am sorry we are unable to give specific advice about your claim. You should consider seeing a Welfare Rights Officer at an Advice Agency.

Regards

Michael
