Another medical form from atos for esa

Hi Everyone I hope someone can help. I first applied for esa back in april this year and was sent for a medical in june and after this I was placed in the support group. I knew at sometime I would have to go for another medical but to my surprise I got another form from atos this week and I can,t understand why its so early as I only had a medical 4 months ago and nothing has really changed. I just really wanted to know if this is the norm as I can,t really face having to go for medicals every 6 months or so. I know people who have been on the sick for years without having to go through this. Hope someone can help

Did you get a copy of your medical report from atos when you had your medical, because on that is a prejected return to work 3, 6 12 months or more on it. The dwp use it to call you up for a review, and under the new rules everyone is going to be reviewed more regualry than they used to be. good luck with it.

I'm not aware of any statistics that give the average length of time for a review. All I can say is that it's common for claimants in the WRAG to be reassessed in 3-6 months. But I thought people in the support group will generally get more time than that!

Did you obtain a copy of your ESA85A from your previous medical, which states when you can be expected to be reviewed?

No I didn,t get a copy of my medical report but I was under the impression that I would get called for a medical again but was thinking more like a year rather than months. I am seeing my specialist next week so thats one good thing as I may have more up to date info to put on the medical form. Thanks for your replies

I feel for you, It might be wishful thinking but could it be an error? Is it worth you giving them a ring?

As you are in receipt of a recent award of DLA, it may be wothwhile getting advice from a Welfare Rights Officer at an Advice Agency in order to well prepared!
