New Med's ! G.P. Letter to DWP was created by emma72
Hi All,

I had an appt with my G.P. yesterday, and i asked her to increase my med's, as i'm not doing so well at the moment.
I have just been issued with a CPAP machine, as i have Severe Sleep Apnea, and after using it, i get very bad Panic Attacks.
I have now been prescribed Citalopram, to take every morning, to keep me calm.
But they make me drowsey, and i tryed these before and left the oven on ! and couldnt walk / focus properly when trying to go out.
Is this something i should mention to the DWP ? will they need to be updated, of my most recent conditions ?
I have also requested a letter from my G.P. stating my Mental Health and Med's.

Emma

As your use of the CPAP machine is new, from your post, and the medication is related to this, I would wait a while before making a decision to contact the DWP.

It may well be that your panic attacks will ease with further use of the machine, and remove the need for the additional tablets.

Of course if this does not happen, then you should consider notifying the DWP.

Hi Gordon.

I've been using my CPAP machine since April this year. and im still finding it difficult to use.
Every time i go to the sleep clinic for a review, they just say stick with it. I get very vivid dreams, mostly horrible and wake up having Panic attacks / Anxiety, for the rest of the day.
This is why i need extra meds in the morning, to keep me calm through the day.
I have been on Anti depressants since i was 16, and have tryed twice to come of them, but it didnt work out. The G.P. said, some people need to be on them, Serotonin imbalance in the brain.
My mum/ Aunty / Gran/ Cousin, are exactly the same.
My main problem is my Anxiety, i constantly worry, and only feel better once ive had my evening med.s
It's throughout the day, its a problem, and i cant go anywhere without my partner, and cant stay out for long, as i start to feel panicky.
I dont know how im supossed to manage, when they stop my CB ESA next April, as i cant claim Income Based ESA, my partner works full time.
If they put me on JSA, i cant leave the house for long periods of time, , so how am i supposed to work ?/b]
My meds have gone up from 30mg to 75mg, and now 10mg of Citalopram.
