TOPIC: No appeal acknowledgement as yet!

No appeal acknowledgement as yet! 5 years 11 months ago #72351

Hi,
Put in WRAG from IB without a medical.
Sent in GL24 appeal by recorded delivery nearly 4 weeks ago.
After no acknowlegement after 2 weeks from posting, rang DWP they said they had received the appeal and had sent out a letter suprise suprise the day before..that was 10 days ago and still no acknowledgement letter!
Anyone else had this experience? I thought they had to acknowledge within 2 wks!?Should I send a letter of complaint?

Thanks alot

Hi G,

It may well be worthwhile making an official written complaint.

See info here. :

I didnt realise they had to reply within 2 weeks of receiving an appeal.

We got the paperwork back after it had gone through the process of reconsideration etc etc and turned down.

But it did state that 'although Mr X said he would provide extra supporting evidence he has not done so' or words to that effect.

That was because we thought it was still in a Q to be looked at as no acknowledgement had been sent.
