I have my tribunal next week and am terrified. My gp signed for a blue badge and taxicard 2 weeks ago. I was on hrm, mrc before and renewal came to me getting nothing. DIAL filled in the appeal form but that did nothing.

I am desperate for advice. I am in constant pain and exhaustion. I cannot prepare fresh cooked meals as my hands are too painful. My eyes get blurred at times. I look normal and use a trolley to help me walk but it is painfuland very slow and walking effects my bowels at times.

Can you please advice me.

Welcome to the forums.

If you look through some of the other posts on the forum, you'll see lots of our members are winning their appeals :)

Whilst your submission is important, most appeals are won on the day, by the claimant explaining their needs to the panel members.

Have a look at our DLA claim guides, they can be accessed from the "Members Only" link in the orange box on the left of the page.

Think about, if you were starting from scratch, how you would fill in you DLA claim form. This will help you to explain your care and mobility needs when you are at the Tribunal.

If you have specific questions, please come back to the forum.

I won my tribunal with similar conditions to those you have.
Keep strong; it is not as daunting as you are thinking. You should be given plenty of time to put your case, but if not, don't let them hurry you. There will almost certainly be a proper doctor present tell them about all the things that cause you pain and difficulty on a daily basis. I would try to write a list/get somebody to do this for you, so you have it to hand. Better still, do a copy for them. Take copies of all your medical evidence and medications and show by the doses of the latter how dependent you are on them to function, but make sure you describe also how your medication does not help (on a bad day etc). Give examples of the things you cannot do repetitively/more than once because of pain. Give examples/a list of the adapted equipment you rely on. Tell them how your disabilities affect the most mundane of "ordinary" tasks and about the things you no longer do as a result.
If there were any inaccuracies/omissions in the record of your Atos medical, highlight these(take copies). Very best wishes for it on the day.
