Have received ESA50 (renewal) does anyone know if whilst applying for exceptional circumstances the ESA50 has to be filled out or can a letter giving reasons be sent to Atos and Decision maker without filling out the form.?

Hi,

No matter the circumstances of the claim, an ESA50 will be required to claim, or continue to claim ESA at a renewal.

Generally in legislation there is something tucked away about applying for benefits in 'an approved manner' which generally means using the correct application form.
