Thank you for your reply Gordon.

I have check the document and on the front it says ESA85 ? I am confused. Di I ring and ask for the rest of the document.

"The ESA85 should contain the "prognosis" recommended length of WRAG award, and also reasons why you were put in WRAG"

Thanks Neil

Hi Gordan My Wife rang DWP on my behalf. they asked me security questions and then spoke to my wife.

Apparantly We were told i have to write a letter apealing and to say on what ground s i am appealing. This is before they will submit the report of the ESA 85 reasons.

I know the points i have been given, what i wanted was "prognosis" recommended length of WRAG award, and also reasons why you were put in WRAG"

It is difficult for me to appeal without knowing this info.

What can I do !!!!

Hi NW,

Your prognosis should indeed be on your ESA85.

Please see advice given to ATOS HCP's in the WCA Handbook, re : prognosis.

Page 112 3.10 onwards of the WCA Handbook accessible from this link. :

You should re-contact the DWP and ask for confirmation of you prognosis.

cheers

Neil

The front page should say

Employment Support Allowance
Medical Report Form

and will details of you and when the medical was held.

My report was 29 pages, but that was on the old criteria, so I would expect yours to be 4 or 5 pages shorter.

The last page should be a declaration from the "doctor".

It may have changed, but I don't believe the report actually has ESA85 printed on it. Maybe someone with a more up to date copy can confirm this.

So based on your description, I don't believe it is the ESA85 that you have been sent, in fact it sounds more like the Decision Makers score sheet.

Hi neil, I recently had a medical (and was placed in the support group). I received a 6 page ESA85 (it stated it quite clearly on the top) and I too was hoping for the prognosis which wasn't there. I wrote to them for it and they sent me an ESA85a which did have the prognosis on it. I queried with them why I got both an ESA85 and ESA85a (as it has been said on this site many times that people who get a medical get an ESA85 and those you don't get an ESA85a) and was told "the ESA85 you received is the main report from your assessment with Atos and the ESA85a is a supplementary report used by our Decision Makers to assist them in making a decision about your claim." They also said "no ESA65 has been produced as this is only sent to customers who attend and subsequently fail in a medical exam". I also asked a WFO and he confirmed what the DWP said.
