A year ago on the 10th November I had my atos medical for esa, two weeks after that they wrote to tell me I was placed in the wrag, I felt I should have been in the support group but like many others could not face appeal or the risk of losing my award. I have phoned the dwp twice recently to ask when my renewal forms will be sent out, the response was that my claim doesn't run out until the 18th Nov. but that would mean that as i have not received any info from them would my payments stop ie: if I have not had a request sent to me for renewal and my year is up and they have not had a form back from me will they stop payments, When I first spoke to dwp in August I told them of a change in circumstances major health deterioration, they said to wait for renewal. I have started filling in the online form so I am ready to go but am worried about a gap in payments. It was a contributions based claim.
many thanks for any advice.

Hi HM,
The DWP cannot stop your current ESA award without you being re-assessed under a fresh WCA, and the DM making a decision on this fresh WCA.
If you are worried, you could put your concerns in writing and post by recorded delivery, keeping copy, however be aware that this may trigger a WCA.
It is a good idea to start filling in the Pdf ESA50, especially as the deadline for filling it in and returning it has been cut to 4 weeks from receipt.
cheers
