Personalised Summary Statement - Done every time?

I have severe ME/CFS and submitted a great deal of supporting medical info with my ESA50 along with detailed responses to the questions.

I was not asked to attend a medical and have been put in the WRAG. I have obtained a copy of the Atos report on ESA85A.

The report does not include a PSS. I have had a look at DMG 17/11 and it does not specify regarding the ESA85A. Should a PSS be included where an ESA85A is prepared?

Also my problems are described as musculoskeletal - not neurological as per WHO and DofH classifications of ME/CFS - is it worth mentioning this in the appeal do you think?

It is my understanding that a PSS will only be available if a claimant has to attend for a medical assessment, and accordingly this will form an extension of form ESA85.

I believe that by definition that if you were not required to attend a medical assessment, you cannot have a personalised summary statement as this would invariably involve discussion between the ADA and the claimant. Therefore, if as in your case form ESA85A was prepared in the absence of the requirement to attend for a medical assessment, I cannot see how a PSS could be constructed to accompany this form?

Thanks crazydiamond. I had reviewed DMG 17/11 which states the PSS:
The PSS is a statement of facts and findings made by the HCP, and is personal to the
claimant. It gives the HCP the opportunity to:
1.justify their recommendation on the LCW and LCWRA activities and descriptors
and
2.explain where the recommendation conflicts with the claimant’s view of their condition.

And from this thought this may also apply to paper reviews.

Also looking at DMG 17/11 again I did miss the reference to 'examination and report' by HCP.
