7 weeks and still no esa50 form was created by issie
has anyone else had a similar experience ?

I had a letter and phone call within a few days of each other to say that my IB/ESA review was now taking place.

after waiting a month with no sign of the form I wrote to the DWP to say I was still waiting for a form to complete

now its coming up for two months and no form or reply to my letter

what should I do - I fing it difficult to use the telephone and prefer to have a written reord

Hi Iss,

You were right to contact them about your ESA50 not arriving.

You are also right not to rely on telephone contact as proof.

To cover yourself, you may wish to send a recorded delivery letter (keeping copy) to the address on the original IB to ESA migration letter that you received, stating your concerns regarding the fact that you have not yet received your ESA50.

I would do this ASAP.

You will then be covered in case your ESA50 has been sent and lost in the post.

In the mean time you could start filling in the Pdf version of the ESA50 accessible from here. :

Using the ESA guides accessible from here. :

You should have received the ESA50 2-3 weeks after the the letter informing you that you were being moved.

Given that you have already written without success, you need to consider contacting the DWP by phone.

Is there anybody who can phone on your behalf? You may need answer the security questions and authorise tham to speak for you, but this can usually be sorted out.

My reason for suggesting a phone call, is that you would be close to the time that you would need to return the ESA50 if it had been sent. If the DWP believe it has been sent, then they may see its non return as a failure, which can result in your benefit being stopped.

Under normal circumstances it would be a case of letting sleeping dogs lie in this situation if you are still receiving payment, but it may be in your best interests if you send another letter similar to your last one by recorded delivery.

By taking this course of action it will protect your benefit position if there any unlikely repercussions, as it is up to the DWP to take the initiative to follow up the WCA and not the claimant.

Hi Iss,

Gordon is right, it may also be best to back up the written correspondence with a phone call, if possible make an audio recording of the phone call, which is permissible if for your own use.

Failing that, ask whether the phone conversation is being recorded by the DWP, if so request copy of the recording, if not make a note of the time of the phone call, and who you are speaking to.

It may even be advisable to ask to speak to a "team leader" or manager, due to the possible implications that Gordon has mentioned.

To be clear though, you should still send the letter ASAP aswell.

eventually ten weeks on from the transfer letter the esa50 form has just popped through the door - in a white letter just to confuse me

busy now putting the application together

will keep you posted on my progress

thanks
