I put in a request for the DLA to look at my claim as my mobility had deteriorated. I have finally heard back and they said no to mobility again. I have called them up and put my case again and they said they will look at it again but it will take about 11 weeks for a decision and then if they turn me down again I will have to go to a tribunal.

Does any one know if they will accept video evidence? So I could get my wife to video me walking and show them how bad my walking is and how hard it is for me to get around.

Hi rmdo92,

Members have used photographic evidence to aid their claim, so it may be worth a go.

I obviously can't say how much validity they will give to any such video evidence though.

Have you looked at all our DLA guides accessible from here. :

The problem with video evidence is that it could be exaggerated and therefore not a true reflection of your inability to walk, not for one minute suggesting that this would be the position in your case.

In essence, the DLA Unit may be inclined to reject this evidence as unreliable for the reason already given. However, if you feel it may assist your claim, don't be discouraged if you wish to forward video evidence, although it may be worthwhile checking with the DLA Unit in advance to ascertain whether they would be prepared to accept such evidence in support of your claim?

The DWP often use video evidence to attempt to illustrate claimants' walking ability and it is accepted by both the DLA Unit & Tribunals.

Therefore, in my opinion your video evidence should be accepted, otherwise it would amount to a 'breach of natural justice' which would be appealable to a Tribunal.

I know the guides on here are really great but I would think that you have not got alot of time in getting your further evidence together and in to them. If your stuggling trying to sort through that it may be worth requesting a urgent appoinment with a CAB Advisor, it will not cost anything except your time. I`v just recieved help from my local CAB after my GP told me that they have a scheme there where the CAB run an outreach appointment service at the practise. I had an apppointment with the CAB advisor at the GP surgery. I found them really helpful and they are handling my appeal. If you have difficulty getting to them the CAB Advisor in some cases can home visit.I know there are mixed views on here about using CAB and I was a little concerned myself. But there advice is free and there help is free and they will know what to send into further support your DLA claim.
Best of luck with it ;)
