My husband received a letter from the jobcentre re assessment from IB to ESA. 1. As he is too ill to get to the phone I phoned on his behalf. I answered security questions and explained but was told I needed to answer questions about my husbands health. I tried to explain that my husband wishes to give his own answers but she kept telling me to stop talking and to answer the questions as they were quite simple. Can they refuse to send the ESA50 without verbal answers being given first.

I suspect that the lady from the DWP was referring to answering the questions on the ESA50.
There are no health questions that need to be answered before the issuing of the ESA50, and none that would prevent it being issued.
