Hi Keith many thanks but just another couple of points. Even though I was not very happy with my Independent Occupational Health Report from my Employer when my CAB Advisor read it he pointed out that it had been written by a Consultant Independent Occupational Health Physician, the CAB Advisor said that it would have to be taken into account in my Appeal. I was also advised by CAB advisor to list things that have changed from the time the report was written, I was shocked when I actually looked at that and found that my medication had changed several times, I had suffered several falls and also referred back to physiotherapy and orthopaedic consultants. But it does show my condition is unpredictable and I have relapses. As mentioned my appeal is very recent and I await news, although I had a strange telephone call today from DWP to which I will start a new topic discussion as I need advise on that.
I will be sending my complaint about ATOS to my MP raising my concerns at my own treatment at the hands of a so called ATOS medical professional. I think it is the only way forward then MP`s can challenge those in parliament at the running cost to the Tax Payer of appointing ATOS a private I believe French owned organisation to carry out these so called medical capability Assessments and why they have authorised billions of tax payers money to ATOS when the NHS Consultants and GP`s can write the reports at a fraction of the costs and using correct medical information.
ATOS should be made accountable and transparent for all the mistakes it has made to date and all the extra Tribunal costs overturning decisions due to their incompetence. All the distress being caused to the DWP disabled customers. I feel we must make our MP`s aware of our own individual experience and distress at the hands of ATOS and more importantly the time and costs to ourselves and make our MP`s aware if our decisions were changed by the decision maker or Tribunal and what ATOS missed that took several months to get corrected and to what cost to our health and well being ?
BEST WISHES
Meg

I also told her that I suffer from hypertension so she decided to take my blood-pressure. However, she couldn’t undo the valve on the blood-pressure gauge so she asked me if I could undo it for her. I find it worrying that a doctor is unable to operate her own blood-pressure monitor. Perhaps she should award herself a point!

It's just possible that the bit with blood-pressure gauge was deliberate.

This sort of thing has been reported before - the examiner drops something and asks the claimant to pick it up. They then use that as evidence that you have no problems picking things up.

The best known one is asking you to get on to the couch for a physical examination. They may be interested in the results of the physical exam, but they are even more interested to see if you can be persuaded to show that you have no problems getting on and off a high couch. Quite what that proves (even when it is true) I'm not sure - except that they need not give you any points for some descriptor or another.

You may find that the report shows that you have no problems with manual dexterity, since you were able to loosen her gauge for her. (On re-reading that sounds faintly improper)
