Wfi's was created by citymike
Good morning everyone,
I was migrated from IB to ESA in early June, however for whatever reason the transfer was not official until early August. My prognosis was a possible return to work in 12 months. We are now coming to the end of November and i have not heard anything about attending WFI.
Does anyone have any latest news on how long these are taking .
Thanks.

Hi Citymike

I'm in a similar position to you and have been eagerly awaiting my first WFI for a few months. ;)

I believe there is a backlog in the administration of placing claimants with providers, and long may it continue. :)

Regards

Derek

Unless you are particularly enthusiastic about attending a WFI, it is up to the DWP to arrange these interviews and therefore I would be inclined to let sleeping dogs lie until such time as you are contacted by Jobcentreplus.

If however you think that a WFI would be beneficial, you should contact your local office as over three months would appear to be an inordinate amount of time to wait for an interview?

Personally I was on IB, then filled in my ESA50 in July. I heard back in October that I was to be placed in WRAG. I appealed straightaway and I have my first WFI next week. I hope to have this deferred.

Just an update,
As i have a number of hospital appts coming up over the next few months, i contacted my local Jobcentre to ask about WFI to make sure there were no date clashes.
I was told that i had to speak to the ESA department,as it was them that make the appointments and use the local Jobcentre to do the interviews.
I then rang the ESA office who said that my local Jobcentre send out the letters, but was told not to worry as ther was no set time for the interviews to be arranged ,and that depending on how severe your disability is you may not even get called if the Jobcentre think they will struggle to help you.
So on the basis of what i have been told today, and with the 12month payment rule,it seems to me they are saying youre on your own, best of luck!

Sounds very strange that someone told you that you may not get any WFI's when in WRAG. That is either total rubbish or makes you wonder if there is some manipulation in play to massage the Govt statistics! I'm very supicious of anything the DWP et al., say on the telephone.
